The Catholic School Advantage

The Catholic School Advantage

Why Should I Send My Children to St. Peter's Catholic School?

Numerous studies show that parents place their children in Catholic schools for three reasons: the superior academic achievement of Catholic school students; for their secure and disciplined learning environments and for a total education, which includes growth in religious awareness and an appreciation of morals and values.

Evidence for the superior performance of students from Catholic elementary schools comes from the test administered as part of the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examination. These tests showed that Catholic school 8th graders scored higher than public school 8th graders in reading, science, mathematics, and social studies. The tests of the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) sponsored by the U.S. government also demonstrated that students in Catholic Schools score higher than those in public schools. These tests compared scores in reading, science, mathematics, and writing for the 4th and 8th grade levels.

U.S. Catholic School enrollment has grown by more than 64,000 in the past decade. Current enrollment is 2,647,301.

Family and Community

Catholic Schools strive to create a special bond among the students, the home, the school and the church, so that all share the strong sense of community.
